Mystery of Misteak by Frank Talaber

The Mystery of Ms. Teak is Book Two of The Ainsworth Chronicles by Frank Talaber, continuing the strange, supernatural, and often humorous adventures of Detective Carol Ainsworth.

Detective Carol Ainsworth has her work cut out for her this time—and with Agnes at her craziest best, that's saying something.

A mysterious secret has been discovered, one so strange that it can't be revealed to anyone—including the person at the centre of it. Meanwhile, one psychic is being hunted by another, raising the question: how do you stop a psychic who may already know what you're going to do?

Carol soon finds herself dealing with angry Russians, supernatural mysteries, psychics, and the reborn Sir Francis Rattenbury, the famous architect behind much of historic Victoria, British Columbia. A young girl claims to be the psychic everyone is searching for, while something appears to be seriously wrong with Nathan, Carol's nephew, whom they previously saved from death.

And then there's Agnes.

Her behaviour has become increasingly strange—even by Agnes' standards.

Blending supernatural mystery, paranormal detective fiction, reincarnation, psychic abilities, humour, and Canadian history, this imaginative novel takes readers back into the unusual world of Victoria, British Columbia.

Of course, despite ghosts, psychics, mysteries, and supernatural chaos, one important tradition remains:

High Tea is still being served.
